I’ve actually been working on stuff! Yay, me.
I finally got the serger correctly threaded to do the rolled edges for the petals, and have since made about 30 petals… and it was SO FAST!! *_* It would have taken me Iforever/I to do it on the regular sewing machine. I think I’m in love, haha.
I painted my shoes for Padme – I wasn’t going to, they were ok looking, but I added a coat of iridescent white paint to them, and I like how they look now. Here they are before paint:
I gave up on how I was going to make my tiara originally and I’m trying something different.
I started on the base dress for her and the base cape – neither is finished. I don’t like how the base dress is looking and I may take it apart and re-do it.
The parasol is coming along slowly – dad and I tested some “JB Weld” on some scrap pieces the other day, but it didn’t hold, so we’re looking at something else for doing the trick. Here’s the pieces:
I got my material for Mara. My goggles shinguards are on their way… I hope.
Otherwise, Ash said she was ordering her gloves and helmet for her X-Wing pilot this week, yay.
I made a fabric store run today and got some netting I needed, along with a bunch of other little things. What I had came to under $10 and I didn’t want to use my card for that, so I bought more stuff so I’d feel justified using the card, haha. I got my blue and red fabric for my swimsuit :B
I also got my wig for Anna in the mail last week. It’s nice!
As it stands right now…
Because I’m obsessed with organizing. That, and I had an extra half hour before class with nothing to do and nothing with me but a pencil and piece of paper. So I tried to schedule things.
MidSouthCon:
Friday: Imperial Officer
Saturday: Princess Leia during the day, Padme Parade (with dad as Qui-Gon, hopefully) for the costume contest, Anna for post-costume contest (maybe, their costume contest is so late at night I may not feel like changing and hanging around after that.)
Celebration:
Thursday: Padme Lake, Padme Senate (maybe, may not take it, if not I’ll wear my officer later thursday.)
Friday: Padme Parade (for Rebel Legion shoot/costume contest), Leia
Saturday: Mara Jade (for 501st shoot), Padme Battle
Sunday: Imperial Officer
A-Kon:
Yuuko from XXXholic – this is supposed to be some my big costume for A-Kon… if only I could work up some enthusiam for it. If I don’t soon it may not happen.
PGSM Jupiter – should be fun.
Starfire – I’m hoping to move this up and have it done for A-Kon, so I don’t have so much in the way for Comic Con and Dragoncon. I’ve found fabric I like… just wish I had the extra $$ to buy cool contacts.
“Old” costumes: Also taking Belldandy and Mara Jade (which isn’t really an “old” costume per se, but I’m hoping to rewear it there).
Seems weird to only be taking 5 costumes – I’ll have to see if there’s anything else I feel like stuffing myself into for the weekend.
Comic Con:
As it stands right now, new-costume-wise, Yzma, Arwen’s Blood Red dress and Padme Corset gown.
Dragoncon:
Mephistopheles, Polychrome, Belle, and maaaaaaybe Christine’s dressing gown.
Halloween:
Belle – a different one!
